Encroachments: Currently, about 13 acres of the tank is lost due to encroachments. Tamilnadu Civil Supplies Corporation occupies about 5.88 acre on the north-east part of the tank. Over the past 25 years, 267 tiled houses have also come up illegally covering an area of 8 acres.
Inlet and outlet : Selvampathy receives the surplus water from Krishnampathy and after filling the tank, the excesss water drains to Kumarasamy Tank.
