Lakshminaicken Palayam
On 5th February 2011, a meeting was convened by the alumni of Lakshminaickenpalayam School, wherein the school expressed their solidarity to the Pasum Pulari drive. 5 Village Presidents, Councilors and a large group of people from in and around that place had gathered to interact with Siruthuli team, under the leadership of Smt Vanitha Mohan. The response was truly overwhelming. With the never-die attitude of people like the good old man Shri Velusamy, Siruthuli’s mammoth task to plant 1 lakh trees is going to be a breeze. The energy of the team was so vitalizing and it re-inforced the fact that the task is definitely achievable. Shri R Raveendran, Shri K Mylswami, Shri N G Prabhuram, Shri CGS Manion and Shri K T Arasu comprised the team from Siruthuli. Mr Manickam, Manager, Elgi Trust, organized the entire programme.
K’Sirs International School, Chinnavedampatti
14th February 2011, was indeed a green day for the team of “Pasum Pulari”. The little green hands of K’Sirs International School, Chinnavedampatty enrolled themselves as Green Guardians and spread a strong message of conviction and enthusiasm. Cine actor Thiru Sivakumar inaugurated the green activities in this school. He shared memories of his childhood days spent in Coimbatore, which was more beautiful with green trees all around and ensured his strong support to the cause of restoring the bounty of this region. The team also honored green warriors like Thiru Veluchamy, a retired teacher who, using a part of his pension money, have been working untiringly to add to the greenery of this region. The students performed a skit that could powerfully instill motivation and zeal to all those who are committed to make Mother Earth green.
