A study conducted by Siruthuli revealed encroachments on one of the supply channels of Krishnampathy Tank - Somaiyampalayam pallam. This pallam starts from Kanuvai hills and slopes towards South - East for about 8.53 kms and connects Krishnampathy tank. It was found that the entire pallam was encroached to a depth of 15 ft and for a width of 30 ft. across the channel hampering the natural flow of water to Krishnampathy Tank. Steps were taken for removal of these encroachments by approaching the Government authorities thus paving the way for free flow of water and preventing wastage of run-off water.
