Even though Siruthuli’s Tree Park was well established right from the year it started ie., 2003, for quite a few months it wasn’t exposed that much to the public. During April 14th 2005, the Tamil New Year day, Siruthuli thought of providing wide exposure to the public on Siruthuli Tree Park and its services available. Also, to promote afforestation on a large scale, Siruthuli released advertisements inviting public to simply pick up any kind of saplings they want and go ahead with planting. Lots of people turned up on that specific day with their two wheelers, autos, vans etc. Each of them was asked to fill up a written pledge whereby they commit themselves for the growth of that sapling into a tree. Besides, they were supposed to mention the exact location of planting along with the saplings they want. That day was one of the greenest days for all Siruthulians. On that specific day, the issue counter at Siruthuli Tree Park registered issuing close to ten thousand saplings.
